About Kerri Davidson



Kerri Davidson is a memoirist, poet, screenwriter, and editor based in New York City. Portions of her memoir have been published in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Power of the Positive, Skirt! Magazine, and Hope Whispers. In 2017 her poem, This Moment, won the Nostalgia Press Heart Poetry award and her poem, Beginnings, won honorable mention. Both were published in the Heart 12 anthology. Her poem, Midnight Train, was published in Poetry in the Cathedral. She co-wrote the screenplay for the award-winning short film, Finding You, with Grant Chang, a film that was named one of the Top Ten Films in the 2015 Asian American Film Lab's 72 Hour Shootout competition. Kerri is currently completing a full-length memoir about her move from Indiana to New York City and her adventures in the city.

Kerri is an active volunteer with New York Cares, coming up on her 15th year of volunteering with that organization's Read to Me project in the Bronx. For three years Kerri was a writing mentor for Girls Write Now, a non-profit organization dedicated to pairing writing professionals with at-risk teenage girls in New York City. Kerri has written articles for Girls Write Now's blog, newsletter, and anthology and has read excerpts of her memoir and poetry at various New York City venues. In her free time, she loves to dance.
